    What is Su Embroidery(Suzhou Embroidery)?
Suzhou or "Su" embroidery is one of the oldest embroidery techniques in the world, with origins stretching back more than 2,000 years. Suzhou embroidery was one of the first embroidery styles to be developed in China, but its detailed needlework and intricate images are still produced today. It is a style characterized by brightly colored silk embroidered with well-proportioned and uncluttered representations of almost any pastoral scene, person, animal, or object. Examples of Suzhou embroidery were so detailed and intricate that many people used the pieces as artwork, and some of the oldest pieces still in existence date back hundreds of years.
Su embroidery features a strong, folk flavor and its weaving techniques are characterized by the following: the product surface must be flat, the rim must be neat, the needle must be thin, the lines must be dense, the color must be harmonious and bright and the picture must be even.

What is a good Su embroidery product?
Due to Su embroidery are 100% handmade, the price can vary dramatically depends on its size, technique and quality.
First, a good embroidery product must have a beautiful pattern and the items look vivid whereas the ordinary one looks stiff.
Secondly, For material used, all silk floss used in a fine embroidery work must be custom dyed according to the specific design.the needlework should be dense and on some specific area, the thread should be very thin so the image will become vivid. To create a good quality embroidery, an artist must split a single silk thread up to 64 thinner strands - depending on how fine the embroidery work should be. The artist then stitches layer after layer using various color of threads to reach the final wonderful effect.
Lastly, the color sense of a good embroidery is bright and gradual color change is natural, whereas the color of ordinary embroidery is not very harmonious.
